Sensitivity to noise (Hyperacusis)
Traffic, barking dogs, doorbells or church bells – these are just a few of the noises that accompany us every day. For those with increased sensitivity to noise, however, these sounds are not just annoying, but almost unbearable. They suffer from a pathological sensitivity to normal environmental noise levels.
This condition is called hyperacusis. In order to combat the causes of hypersensitivity to everyday sounds, a so-called hyperacusis training is carried out with a noise generator. As part of this treatment, the patient learns step by step, in a playful way, to deal with environmental sounds again. A relaxed approach to sounds and noise is regained and a great deal of quality of life is restored to those affected.
